So our fall trip this year was a whirlwind tour of Washington. Our first day included the Mall (above), the
National Archives (Declaration of Independence, Constitution, etc.), and the National Gallery of Art (below). The second day
focused on the Museum of American History (bottom).

The modern art was interesting, and inspired some animated conversations. We also toured the more traditional wing
and saw lots and lots of paintings.
The American History Museum (this photo was in the Civil War section) was full of too many things to see. The kids were
trying to pull off an 'authentic' period look and not smile for the photo. Pretty good, don't you think? We managed to squeeze
in Maritime History, Transportation, lunch, American Wars (Revolutionary to Iraq/Afghanistan) and a little Pop Culture. And
a delightful look at Julia Childs' kitchen.

We also spent a day at the Air and Space Museum, again, way too much to see. So many planes and rockets and stuff.

That's Jake, Ellis, Roy and Alton, in case you can't spot them among all the planes.
