It's May...can you guess where the Jacobys are?

Well we trekked out to Florida (well, mostly Alabama) again. This time we spent a week in Gulf Shores (Tar balls? What tar balls?), with a stop in New Orleans for breakfast on the way. And we headed over to Pensacola twice to see the Aviation Museum and the Blue Angels practice.

Pensacola is Nice

Beignets for breakfast! Yum!
Cafe du Monde is open 24-hours if you are curious. We left Houston late at night and pulled into New Orleans around 6AM Saturday morning.
After a quick picture in front of the mighty Mississippi, we were back on the road.

Instead of driving around Mobile Bay, we decided to try the adventure of the ferry across from Dauphin Island. It was interesting. A small boat that holds about thirty cars is not my idea of a 'ferry'. Alton was introspective about the experience.

Dessert time in Gulf Shores! A quick celebration for Grace and Evelyn's 6th birthday.

We had a good week on the beach. In spite of the giant oil spill looming the gulf, we only saw a few random tar balls. The water and weather were great. We buried people in the sand, built sand castles and fished a little bit.

There was also much dancing, with original numbers to "Fireflies", "Single Ladies" and "Kung-fu Fighting" (pictured above).
